| Janett McKee of JM Photography discovered her love of photography
during her teen years, taking her camera almost everywhere she went.
After high school she moved to Virginia where a few years later she
followed in her Dad's footsteps and joined the Army. During her years
in the Army, Janett spent time in Texas and southern California. In
2002 Janett decided to devote more time to her family so she got out
of the Army and moved to Austin. Janett had grown tired of waiting
hours at the mall and having cookie cutter type pictures taken of
her children. She wanted more than stiff poses and cheesy smiles;
she wanted her children's distinct personalities to show through.
She soon realized she was never going to get that from a large chain
and decided to start taking their portraits herself. After a few months
there were pictures with real laughter and real personality on her
walls, her friends took notice and soon she was taking portraits of
their children as well. In early 2004 at the urging of a close friend,
Janett took a hobby she was passionate about and JM Photography was
born. |
