How do you take your images to the next level? Decoding modern industry techniques means a blend of nailing the shot in camera and post-processing in programs like Lightroom and Photoshop. Learning the industry best practices and engineering how to recreate popular image trends. From something as simple as a headshot portraits, through to a cinematic movie poster, knowing some of the industry techniques will help you take your images and portfolio to a new level creatively. For our second year Mark Heaps once again returns to share his industry experience in how award winning images are produced. If you're a beginner this class will introduce you to the potential for your work, and give you some key direction on what you should be learning moving forward. For more seasoned attendees, come learn the best practices that Mark teaches at seminars and conferences around the world based on his clients ranging from Dell, Coca-Cola, Rachel Ray Magazine, Adobe, and more.

Feel free to bring a laptop with a recent version of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom, or just sit back and take notes to practice from later. As an Adobe Community Professional Mark will be happy to answer questions and demonstrate solutions to problems he is regularly asked about. Bring your cameras as well in case you want to shoot our setup scenes that we'll use to demo with.

Mark's Bio

Mark Heaps snapped his first picture at the age of four. Then he picked up a guitar, a skateboard, and a can of spray paint, and kickflipped his way into the world of art. Today, he's a professional photographer, an Adobe Certified Professional, an Adobe Community Professional, and a Senior Development Specialist at Duarte Inc, where he works with some of the world's most recognized brands. He's a sucker for good tattoos, live music, and ketchup on most everything. Mark currently snaps pictures in Austin, where he lives with his wife, daughter, son, two dogs, and a pantry full of ketchup.

Mark is a contributing author to many publishers and websites including PSDTuts, AdobePress, Peachpit and has lectured for Adobe's "Ask A Pro" series of webinars. His work has been used by Guitar Player magazine, Texas Music Magazine, Apple Computer, Google, WalMart, Adobe and many others. Mark specializes in developing creative professionals working in commercial environments. With over 7 years experience teaching privately at colleges in Silicon Valley, writing more than 50 curriculums for various academia and private training institutions, his passion for digital imaging might only be surpassed by two things -- ketchup, and his kids. Not necessarily in that order.
