Optically opaque to the human eye, this filter is primarily used for photography with infrared films. SLR models are not easily used because there is no way to focus or see the subject, in this case non-SLR rangefinder digital cameras are ideas as one can use the built in LCD screen to compose, manual focus is a feature that also is desireable since some cameras will have a hard time focusing accurately.
