One-Light Studio Portraits and Editorial

Wanting to learn about studio lighting in the context of editorial and fashion style shooting without breaking the bank - this is the right course for you. You'll learn how to use and setup lighting gear to create dramatic and interesting photos with ONE LIGHT. We will show setups with speedlites and strobes. The concepts learned in this class can be applied to portraits, editorial, e-commerce and product photography. You will be able to practice the techniques you learn with a professional model in class. You will learn about light, quality of light, sync speed, camera settings and how to control your light using various lighting modifiers and the effect they have on your image. We will work with bare bulb flash, umbrellas, parabolic umbrellas, softboxes, V-Flats, reflectors and a beauty dish.

This course is intended for those wanting to learn about basic studio lighting and up their game with in-studio lighting. The context will mainly be around clean, simple, editorial lighting. This is geared towards advanced beginner to Intermediate photographers looking to grow their skills in studio lighting.

About the InstructorTodd White specializes in fashion, commercial and portrait photography and videography. He is a LUMIX Global Ambassador and a Saramonic Ambassador. His client list includes Facebook, Pinterest, The Alamo, Neiman Marcus and various fashion designers. Todd has photographed with many country music artists including Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert and George Strait. His commercial work has been published in Vogue, British Vogue, Elle, People, the Wall Street Journal as well as other publications. He is an Emmy award-winning Producer and Videographer for the Daytripper TV show on PBS. Class & Event Cancellations
You can cancel a class registration up to two business days before the class begins and receive a full refund for standard classes. If you register for a tier 1 class and do not show up, your payment will be forfeited. You may reschedule a class only if notice is given before the start time of the class. Unless otherwise stated, class refunds are only issued to customers that provide notice to the store that they would like a refund no later than two business days prior to the class. Refunds will not be issued to customers who sign up for a class but fail to attend.
Each class needs a minimum number of students to enroll before the class can “make.” If the minimum enrollment has not been met two business days before the class begins, the class will be cancelled. All students who enrolled in the class will be notified by telephone or email, and may transfer to a different class or be issued a refund (see refund procedure).
