Breath Taking: A Brief Description of Timelessness
Sponsored by Nikon: Vincent Versace
The greatest photographs are ones that have the feel of a breath held expectant. When the photographer was so taken by the moment the gasp of moment caused the shutter to be released and that breath of a moment is forever held in an image. In Vincent’s keynote we will have a brief discussion about the gift of giving the echo of time, showing a moment of the past in the future to be the present every time it is seen.
Vincent Versace is an internationally recognized pioneer in the art and science of digital photography. His passion for natural light photography is manifest not only in his work but also through his role as a creative and technical leader, contributing to innovative breakthroughs across the entire digital image value chain. Vincent is one of Nikon’s founding Nikon Ambassadors and is considered by Nikon to be “one of the top photography artists and visual storytellers of this era. ” Vincent is a recipient of the Computerworld Smithsonian Award in Media Arts & Entertainment, the Shellenberg fine art award and is a member of the International Guild of Cinematographers. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum of American History. He is the photographer of Immediate Assistants Medical Rescue Go Team. He was commissioned by the San Francisco Presidio Trust to create a body of photographic work to permanently capture this National Park and Historic Landmark.

Austin is home but, It's Aloha at heart! I lived in Hawaii for 15 years before making the move to Austin. I will tell you right now the Hawaii is as beautiful as it seems and more. I felt drawn and compelled to capture every bit of it, and that's how I fell in love with photography. Snapping photos of beaches and flowers soon turned into wedding photography. I fell in love with love, and there is no better medium to capture it with than photography. 12 years later and I’m still excited every time I walk into a new wedding.
