Join Houston Chronicle Photojournalist Karen Warren as she shares her favorite stories and photographs from her 26 years of covering the Houston Astros for the Chronicle. From Spring Training to winning a second World Series in 4 years, Karen has been there to see - and photograph - it all.

Let's Go to the Park...the Skate Park with Charles Garcia and Tamron 

In this class we will explore visiting local skateparks and capturing fast action with flash. Charles Garcia will discuss the ins and outs of navigating local skateparks and how he uses off camera strobes. We will discuss topics such as choosing the right lens, researching your location, etiquette, what to pack, safety tips, looking at light and much more. Come along as we take a look at some fun action shots at the local skatepark and pick up some shooting tips before you take it to the streets.

Come learn about Nikon’s latest Camera: the Z8. The ultimate hybrid camera bringing still and videos to life as quickly as you can prepare the shoot. This class will cover the features and capabilities of the new Nikon Z8 and Nikon’s representative Terrence Campbell will do a short demonstration during the class.!

Let's Get Lit! with Fred Agho and Fujifilm

Fred will educate attendees on the impact of light distance and direction on portrait photography in a studio environment. He will cover topics such as how the distance of the light source affects the intensity of light on the subject, how the size of the light source determines the spread of light, and how bringing the light source closer to the subject creates a harsher light with denser shadows. Additionally, Fred will explain how the direction of the light affects the brightness of different sides of the subject and how color temperature in a camera can change the overall feel of an image.

Light Painting and Multi-Exposure Selective Lighting with Joe Lippeatt

In this class, we will be discussing an unusual lighting technique to create surreal and other-worldly images. Selective Light Painting is a technique that uses one strong flashlight (or flash) to light your subject from different angles. You will learn to use both long and short exposures to create images using just one light source. You can use long exposure to light your subject from multiple directions to create one epic image, or create several images and merge them in Photoshop. I'll teach you how to do both techniques.
