Have you tried to make portraits using window light and struggled to get good results? For many classical portrait artists, window light was all they used. This workshop will get you on the path to beautiful portraiture using only window light.

This class will be held at Greg Testerman's Studio at 3141 Eagles Nest St suite 210, Round Rock, TX 78665, USA.

- Understanding window light including its variance in a room.

- Crafting and modifying window light to meet your desired vision.

- Subject placement relative to a window to get the best results.

- Classic portrait shadow patterns – how to choose and create them.

- Posing basics – how to pose anyone to make them look their best

Audience

This class is targeted for all levels of photographers who wish to improve their window light portraiture.

Objective

This workshop serves as a great starting point for those seeking to get started with window light to create beuatiful portraits. Students will have the opportunity to photograph a professional model and can expect to leave the class with a greater understanding of window light portraiture.

Schedule and Format

This two-hour class consists of lecture, demonstration and practice. Students will see the instructor demonstrate techniques then students will photograph a professional model using the material they’ve learned. The instructor will provide continuing feedback to students during the workshop to help improve their results. A non-commercial model release will be provided as part of this class.

Equipment Required

Camera, lenses, memory cards and charged batteries.

About the Instructor

The instructor for this class is Austin photographer Tim Babiak. Tim is a full-time photographer and a long-time instructor at PCU. Tim serves on the Board of Directors of the Austin Professional Photographers Association and is a two-time recipient of the Photographer of the Year award from the Austin Professional Photographers Association. Tim is also a two-time Bronze Medalist in PPA’s International Print Competition. Tim is a Photographic Craftsman and Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) via the Professional Photographers of America.

Class Cancellations

Tier 1: Standard Classes

If you register for a tier 1 class and do not show up, your payment will be forfeited. You can reschedule a class only if notice is given 24 hours before the start time of the class. Unless otherwise stated, class refunds are only issued to customers that provide notice to the store that they would like a refund 48 hours before the class. Refunds will not be issued to customers who sign up for a class but fail to attend.

Minimum Enrollment
Each class needs a minimum number of students to enroll before the class can “make.” If the minimum enrollment has not been met two business days before the class begins, the class will be cancelled. All students who enrolled in the class will be notified by telephone or email, and may transfer to a different class or be issued a refund (see refund procedure). We encourage all students to enroll as soon as registration begins. Please check your phone and email messages, including your SPAM.

How to Reschedule or Cancel a Class
Please contact the store at 512-467-7676 or email classes@precision-camera.com to cancel a class. Class cancellations or requests to be rescheduled that are sent through other channels, such as Facebook or Meetup.com messages, will not be honored.
