Instructors

Tina Sokolovskaya, Nikon Ambassador

Nikon Ambassador Tina Sokolovska has become one of the most recognized fashion, editorial, and celebrity photographers working today. Her imagery has appeared in Vogue and her acclaimed photograph “On the Wave” was named among the Top 100 Best Photographs in the World by 35photo.pro. She is also an educator who has led more than 100 workshops across four continents and is the founder and creative director of New York–based 917 Agency.

Julie Gayler, Westcott Top Pro

Julie is a Fujifilm Featured photographer and Westcott Top Pro who loves bold, cinematic lighting and creative storytelling. For over 15 years she’s photographed everything from weddings to commercial work to imaginative portraits across five states. She’s taught countless workshops and demos, sharing lighting in a way that feels simple, creative, and encouraging. She also steps in as a creative and lighting director for other photographers and as a gaffer on indie film projects—bringing her love of light into both stills and motion. At home, she’s homeschooling four kids, embracing country life, and making everyday moments (and her dramatic chickens) look a little magical.

Nicola Majocchi, Profoto

Photographer Nicola Majocchi has become one of the most distinctive voices in fashion and sports photography. After working as an assistant to legendary photographer Irving Penn in New York City, he developed a signature visual style. Dividing his time between New York, Los Angeles, and Italy, he is a sought-after educator who regularly leads workshops and lectures worldwide and collaborates with UEDA College of Fashion in Osaka, Japan.

Workshop Topics

Tina Sokolvskaya, Nikon - Directing Emotion in Fashion Portraits

Go beyond posing to create fashion portraits with emotion, atmosphere, and cinematic storytelling. Join Nikon Ambassador Tina Sokolovskaya as she shares techniques for directing models naturally, building confidence on set, and using movement, expression, and composition to create editorial images with depth and intention. Through live demonstrations and guided shooting, you'll develop techniques for making portraits that feel authentic, expressive, and memorable.

Julie Gayler, Westcott - Building Beautiful Window Light
For centuries, painters and photographers have turned to window light for the way it naturally creates dimension, mood, and believable portraits. Join Westcott Top Pro Julie Gayler as she uses window light as a blueprint for timeless portrait lighting, then recreates it in the studio with off-camera flash, building from a single light to layered setups with feathering, falloff, reflectors, gobos, lighting ratios, and motivated lighting. Through live demonstration and hands-on shooting on immersive styled sets, you'll develop techniques for creating portraits that feel natural, dimensional, and cinematic, so you can stop searching for the perfect window and start creating it anywhere.

Nicola Majocchi, Profoto Shaping Light & Movement in Fashion Photography

Through live demonstrations and guided shooting, you'll gain practical techniques for producing fashion photographs that feel polished, dynamic, and full of life.

Gary Hughes, Fujfilm - Designing Dynamic Portraits
Discover what transforms a good portrait into a compelling one. Join Fujifilm professional photographer Gary Hughes as he shares the key elements of dynamic portraiture, simple lighting techniques, and effective posing and direction.
