Description
Birds of Prey Photography Experience
Join Precision Camera and instructor Stephen Brkich for up close and personal photography with the birds of the Austin Wildlife Rescue. This will be a great opportunity to get up close and personal with a variety of native raptors — all while learning about their habitat and behavior. During this shooting experience you will get a chance to photograph the birds from a distance and up close with the help of an expert. The day will start with a short classroom/lecture session covering bird photography basics followed by two hours of photography with the birds in a studio setting.
Please read details of the location and schedule below.
Concepts Covered
• Basic Bird Photography - Birds on the Wing
• Basic Bird Photography - Perching Birds
• Ideal Bird Photography Camera Setup
• Two hours of private, up close bird photography.
Required Equipment
Students should have a camera, lens(es), charged battery and empty memory card(s).
Since we will be able to be very close to the birds, any lens from portrait length (70mm on Full frame, 50mm on Crop) to telephoto (200mm+) is usable. A 70-200mm, 24-105mm, 55-200mm or similar are great all around options. Longer telephotos like a 200-500mm will also be helpful for isolating the bird against the background.
Audience
This class is suitable for photographers of all skill levels. The “classroom/lecture” portion will cover everything you need to know to get good photos of the birds.
