with Ryan Dunbar
This workshop is designed for photographers who understand the basics but feel uncertain about how their work is perceived and presented. Before marketing can work, the portfolio itself has to communicate clarity, intent, and professionalism.
Ryan begins by breaking down portfolio curation - how to evaluate images, identify what strengthens or weakens your body of work, and make intentional decisions about what should be shown. From there, the workshop moves into how curated work is positioned and amplified through Facebook and Google Ads.
Rather than focusing on trends or shortcuts, the class explains how photographers are actually discovered, evaluated, and hired. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of how presentation, messaging, and paid visibility work together, and why marketing fails when the foundation is unclear.
By the end of the workshop, attendees will walk away with:
- A practical framework for curating and refining a stronger portfolio
- Insight into how potential clients evaluate photography and make decisions
- A clear understanding of how Facebook and Google Ads fit into photography marketing
- Guidance on when paid advertising makes sense and when it does not
