Used Leica Leitz 40mm f/2 Summicron - C Lens
The Leica Summicron-C 40mm f/2 is a compact and highly collectible piece of Leica history, originally developed for the Leica CL and Minolta CLE rangefinder cameras as part of a collaborative effort between Leica and Minolta in the 1970s. Offering a natural 40mm field of view that sits between the classic 35mm and 50mm focal lengths, this lens delivers a uniquely immersive perspective that many photographers find ideal for street, documentary, and everyday candid shooting. Despite its modest size and age, the Summicron-C carries the Summicron name with full justification, producing images with the smooth rendering, pleasing contrast, and optical character that Leica shooters prize above all else.
Technically, the Summicron-C 40mm f/2 features a fast f/2 maximum aperture in an exceptionally small all-metal body, making it one of the most pocketable Leica M-mount compatible lenses ever made. It covers the full 35mm frame and mounts natively on Leica M-series bodies, and adapts readily to modern mirrorless systems for use as a characterful everyday prime.
