6th Street Neon Portrait Workshop
w/ Josh Baker
6th St, Live Music, Neon Lights. Learn to use the night time ambient light to your advantage in your photography. Balance the bright pinks and blues of Austin’s downtown with flash and ambient techniques to make amazing portraits. We will be a roving band of Austin Weirdness, so come out and join us.
Structure and Format
This class will be on location and will require walking at a leisurely pace. We will meet in downtown Austin and meander the streets searching for interesting ambient light to pair with our flashes and light wands.

Equipment Required
Camera with a fast zoom should suffice (f2.8). Fast prime is probably a good lens choice as well. Camera with a hot shoe so that you can use on camera flash or to trigger the flashes the instructor is bringing.
Audience
This is an intermediate to advanced level course. You should be comfortable with your camera in Manual Mode, and be comfortable with your camera’s focus modes.
About the Instructor
To Josh, life is one big adventure. He founded AzulOx Visuals in 2009 and has been exploring the world and new photographic techniques ever since. Josh loves to use his photographs to tell stories, and he excels in designing creative story-boarded shoots. Josh is passionate about photography and the creative development of his students. He uses a variety of teaching techniques to help his students realize their photographic vision.
