Sharing the same form factor as previous Sony ActionCams, the FDR-X1000 (not shown) records professional 4K video or up 240p HD / 120p Full HD video. Stereo mic and f/2.8 Zeiss lens with SteadyShot image stabilization reveal Sony's deep roots in HD video capture, offering users an arguably higher fidelity experience than that of the GoPro. As it should; it comes with a higher price tag of $499. More popular will be it's updated HD-video-only sibling, the AS200V (shown below) at only $299. Both are compatible with the Smart Remote Live View Watch (kitted with camera for $399) which can control up to 5 action cam devices.
It shares many of the same advanced features and exciting technologies as the X1000V including full pixel readout image, improved image stabilization, clean HDMI out and upgraded manual controls. The AS200V can shoot full 1080p HD/50Mbps video5 at 60p, 720p HD video at 120p and WVGA video at 240p.
