6th Street Neon Portrait Workshop

Monday, Nov. 8 from 6 to 8 p.m.

6th Street, Live Music, Neon Lights! Learn to use the night time ambient light to your advantage in your photography. Balance the bright pinks and blues of Austin’s downtown with flash and ambient techniques to make amazing portraits. We will be a roving band of Austin Weirdness, so come out and join us.

Birds of Prey Shooting Experience

Saturday, Nov. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Join Precision Camera and instructor Stephen Brkich for up close and personal photography with the birds of the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center. This will be a great opportunity to get up close and personal with a variety of native raptors — all while learning about their habitat and behavior. During this shooting experience you will get a chance to photograph the birds from a distance and up close with the help of an expert. The day will start with a short classroom/lecture session covering bird photography basics followed by two hours of photography with the birds in a studio setting.

Cocktail Photography Workshop

Monday, Nov. 15 from 6 to 9 p.m.

Shooting specialty drinks requires knowledge and skill on understanding how to photograph reflective objects This class will present and demonstrate techniques needed to take successful images of these challenging subjects. We will be demystifying the process of setting up for this difficult and specialized subject matter. The class will be part short lecture, and then hands on demo.

Kristi Odom Shooting Experience: Layers of Beauty in Local Parks

Lecture: Friday, Nov. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Workshop: Saturday, Nov. 20 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

From macro photos of insects, telephoto images of birds to creative photos of the botanicals, grab your camera and join Nikon Ambassador Kristi Odom for a hands-on experience photographing wildlife not too far from home. This special two day lecture and workshop experience is offered through Precision Camera, with award winning photographer and member of the International League of Conservation Photographers Kristi Odom. We’ll host a Friday evening lecture in the Precision Camera classroom and then take an exclusive group of photographers to Mayfield Park for a unique shooting experience the following Saturday morning.

Portfolio Builder: Snapshots with Rob Oades

Sunday, Nov. 21 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in 30 minute sessions

If you want to build your portfolio, gain experience working with a model, learn from a professional photographer, and build your network, this is the perfect class for you! Rob will facilitate a 30-minute shoot for you to strengthen your portfolio and gain valuable experience photographing a model in a studio environment. Rob will be there every step of the way. He will answer questions and demonstrate when required.
