Off-camera flash (OCF) is one of the hottest topics in outdoor portrait photography yet many people struggle to get good results. This workshop will get you well on your way to making beautiful portraits using OCF. You’ll study light at multiple location and practice with a professional model.
- Location scouting with good light and surroundings
- Understanding focal length for portraits
- Light quality and direction
- Equipment considerations
- Blending flash with available light
- How to separate a subject from the background
- Posing and how to make it work outdoors
This class is targeted for beginner to advanced photographers who would like to improve their outdoor portrait photography. Students should bring their camera and lenses as they will be photographing a professional model during the workshop.
This workshop serves as a great starting point for those seeking to create more compelling and creative outdoor portraits using off-camera flash. Students will work with a professional model in multiple locations in a public park setting. Students will leave the class with greater insight into the necessary elements to create compelling portrait photography outdoors.
