Sigma's Contemporary series blends both a refined optical design with a compact and lightweight physical construction that brings a new level of portability and quality to the super telephoto market. The 100-400mm zoom utilizes four SLD glass elements to noticeably reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing throughout the zoom range for improved clarity and color accuracy, and a Super Multi-Layer Coating has been applied to increase contrast when working in strong lighting conditions.

This Sigma 100-400mm lens features a new Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) that produces quick, smooth and quiet auto focus performance with full-time manual focus override for a more responsive approach to photography. You can also utilize the 1:3.8 macro feature from up close or from a further distance. The physical design utilizes Thermally Stable Composite material for durability in a wide range of environments; a twist and push/pull zooming function, and a brass bayonet mount also offers rigidity and mounting precision.
