Creating an atmosphere for poetic expression, and shaping light to match the mood. In Ruben Caballero’s workshop you will dive in to what it means to use photography as a means of expression. Using his unique lighting setups, preferred camera settings, and directing techniques, Ruben will challenge you to go beyond creating a pretty picture to see the art of photography.

This class is targeted for all levels of photographers who wish to develop their craft, and learn more about directing and lighting. Participants should have a good understanding of their gear and know how to manipulate their camera settings.
Schedule and Format
The class will be held at Ruben’s home studio, Fotohouse. It begin with a short lecture, followed by a demonstration. Then, participants will be able to practice learned techniques themselves. Students will photograph a professional model, styled by a professional wardrobe stylist and makeup artist. Ruben will continue to give feedback during each students practice session.

About the Instructor
Ruben is a local photographer and actor, born and raised in Austin, TX. Ruben began his photography career out of necessity, taking pictures for his and his wife Sydney’s non-profit, project apparel company. Ruben quickly discovered his love for photography and specifically portraiture. Using his experience in front of the camera, he was able to develop his imagination and directing abilities, focusing on vulnerability and expression. Ruben uses his specialty in coaching and directing to develop model portfolios for modeling agencies all over Texas and the country such as Elite Miami, NY Model Management, LA Models, Wilhemina, Kim Dawson Models, and many more.
Class & Event Cancellations
Tier 2: Special Events and One-Time Classes
You have up until seven days before a scheduled Mock Wedding, Flash Fest, Portraits in Depth Series, Photo Campouts (including Spring and Fall Photo Camping Extravaganza), special events and one-time classes to cancel and receive a full refund or to reschedule. If you do not show up for a tier 2 class your registration will be forfeited and you will not be permitted a refund or to reschedule. Cancellations made within 7 days of the class will receive a 50% refund.
Each class needs a minimum number of students to enroll before the class can “make.” If the minimum enrollment has not been met two business days before the class begins, the class will be cancelled. All students who enrolled in the class will be notified by telephone or email, and may transfer to a different class or be issued a refund (see refund procedure). We encourage all students to enroll as soon as registration begins. Please check your phone and email messages, including your SPAM.
How to Reschedule or Cancel a Class
Please contact the store at 512-467-7676 or email email@example.com to cancel a class. Class cancellations or requests to be rescheduled that are sent through other channels, such as Facebook or Meetup.com messages, will not be honored.
