SCHEDULE

Friday, September 10 from 4 to 5:30pm

Travel photography is a broad genre covering so many bases. It’s an incorporation of landscape, environmental portrait, wildlife, street photography, and storytelling, all rolled into one. Because travel photographers are naturally wandering souls, we strive to document the world around us in its purest form. And share stories! During this travel and storytelling seminar, we will discuss how to build a photograph with our composition while being sure we know our cameras settings, as well as understanding our location, and how to show stories within our travel photographs. Time to think outside of the box and get creative!

Saturday, September 11 from 11am to 12:30pm

Photographing our night skies takes more than just the willingness to find a dark space. In this seminar we will discuss how we research and plan for our trip, proper gear to pack, and cover some tips and tricks to upgrade your imagery. Let's go into darkness!

Friday, September 10 from 6 to 7:30pm

Learn how to use multiple light sources and choosing the correct lens can help dictate your photo's narrative with Jonathan Thorpe from Tamron. By creating a mood and feeling with our photo using these resources, you'll also start to create a style that is sure to stand out among the crowd!

Saturday, September 11 at 2pm

An exclusive shooting experience with Jonathan Thorpe.

Jonathan Thorpe is a North American photographer whose technical ability to light and direct a story rings true in the images he produces. His approach drums emotions, yet maintains a level of verisimilitude in the form of his narrative portraiture. Since switching to photography in 2008 from a profession in optometry, Jonathan shoots full-time nationally and local to his hometown in Washington D.C. He is currently a Tamron Image Master, Westcott Top Pro, and Holdfast Gear Ambassador and is represented by Wonderful Machine in Philadelphia. Alongside his photography, Jonathan teaches and lectures around the world helping other photographers grow confident in their careers and forays into photography. When not shooting with clients, Jonathan enjoys building and riding his motorcycle, skating with his friends, and doing personal projects to keep his creativity sharp.
