There is nothing like visiting somewhere new to you to bring out the inner photographer in all of us. Whether you're heading off for a back-country hiking trip in a national park, off for a foodie tour of Thailand, or heading to Paris for some high culture, a camera is a vital part of the modern travel kit. But which camera? How do you keep it safe? What can you photograph and what should you ask?
In this class we will learn how to decide what to take, how to pack it, how to approach and take pictures in parts unknown (including cultural issues, and photographic technique). We will discuss both common universally useful gear and accessories for keeping your gear and files safe on the road. We will wrap up with a review of some of the great travel photography of the world.

About the Instructor
Andrew has traveled extensively throughout the world in the last decade including distant locations such as Thailand, New Zealand and Micronesia, as well as to many countries in Europe, and in both North and South America. Andrew routinely does long distance road trips around the US, Canada and Mexico. His cameras (and chargers!) are his constant companions.
Andrew is a self taught photographer who comes from a software engineering background. On his very first trip with a camera he discovered night photography, and like many photographers he has always been drawn to the beauty of the outdoors. He developed his landscape and night photography skills through trial and error in various environments from the sprawling stark beauty of west Texas to bright urban settings around Washington DC and Austin. When not making landscape, nature and night time images, Andrew is shooting for AzulOx Visuals making a variety of images from weddings, to architecture and everything in between. Andrew loves solving problems but more than that, he loves sharing his knowledge with others, helping them grow.
