Used Canon EF 20-35mm f/2.8L USM Lens
The Canon EF 20-35mm f/2.8L USM is a professional-grade ultra-wide zoom lens for Canon EF mount cameras, introduced in 1989 as one of the earliest lenses in Canon's L-series lineup. Maintaining a constant f/2.8 maximum aperture across its entire zoom range, it delivers optical performance Canon positioned as comparable to fixed focal length lenses spanning ultra-wide 20mm through wide-angle 35mm, making it a genuine professional tool for landscape, architecture, and photojournalism work where both speed and wide coverage matter. The all-metal construction gives the lens exceptional build quality, widely regarded even decades later as among the most solidly built lenses Canon has produced.
The optical formula consists of 15 elements in 12 groups, including a ground aspherical element at the front of the lens and a floating element system that maintains image quality at close focusing distances. Both zooming and focusing are fully internal, meaning the barrel length never changes during use, and Ring USM (Ultra Sonic Motor) autofocus provides fast, quiet focus acquisition. The lens reaches a 0.5m minimum focus distance for a 1:11 maximum magnification ratio, and the 6-blade diaphragm stops down to f/22. There is no weather sealing and no image stabilization, both expected omissions given the lens's 1989 introduction, but its narrow 94.5° maximum angle of view at 20mm remains among the widest available for a constant f/2.8 zoom of this era.
