Used Leica Summarit-M 75mm f/2.5 Lens
The Leica Summarit-M 75mm f/2.5 is a short telephoto prime lens for Leica M-mount rangefinder cameras, positioned within the Summarit-M line as a smaller, lighter, and more affordable alternative to Leica's Summicron and Summilux lenses at the same focal length while retaining the optical quality expected of Leica M glass. The 75mm focal length was selected by Leica specifically to replace the traditional 90-100mm portrait range for digital M photography, offering a more versatile balance of subject compression and shooting distance for portraiture and general use.
The optical formula consists of 6 elements in 4 groups using classical spherical lens designs rather than exotic aspherical elements, a deliberate choice that keeps the lens compact while still delivering the image quality associated with Leica optics. The lens is 6-bit coded, allowing compatible digital Leica M bodies to optically identify the lens and apply automatic vignetting correction to JPEG images (RAW files simply record which lens was used, with no automatic correction applied). The non-rotating filter mount accepts E46 filters, and an external thread with a stop accommodates the optional dedicated lens hood, with a protective ring for the external thread included in the box. At just 345g and 60.5mm in length, the lens maintains the compact profile characteristic of rangefinder photography.
