Used Samyang AF 24mm f/1.8 FE Lens
The Samyang AF 24mm f/1.8 FE is a compact wide-angle prime lens for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, providing a 36mm equivalent focal length on APS-C bodies. Part of Samyang's compact f/1.8 lineup alongside the 35mm, 45mm, and 75mm lenses, the 24mm is especially well suited to landscape and astrophotography work, where the wide 83.7° angle of view and fast maximum aperture combine to capture expansive scenes in low light. The lens is also a practical choice for street, architecture, and interior photography where a wide but versatile perspective is useful.
The optical formula consists of 11 elements in 8 groups, including 2 aspherical elements, 3 HR (High Refractive Index) elements, and 2 ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) elements to control aberrations and distortion for sharp, clear imagery. Ultra Multi-Coating (UMC) is applied across all elements to suppress flare and ghosting, and a 9-blade rounded diaphragm supports smooth bokeh. A Linear STM autofocus motor delivers fast, quiet focusing with an internal focus design that keeps the lens length constant and the front element non-rotating, useful for polarizing filters. The lens features weather-sealed construction resistant to dust, light rain, and snow, and physical controls include a custom function switch and a focus hold button. At just 230g and 65 x 71.5mm, it remains compact and travel-friendly for a fast full-frame prime.
