Used Sigma Mirror-Telephoto 600mm f/8 Lens
The Sigma Mirror-Telephoto 600mm f/8 is a super telephoto catadioptric (mirror) lens built for the Minolta MD/SR mount, offering 600mm of reach in a body only about 5 inches long, far more compact than a conventional 600mm lens. Its mirror-based optical design folds the light path internally, trading some conventional handling characteristics for dramatically reduced size and weight.
Because it's a mirror lens, the aperture is fixed at f/8 with no adjustable diaphragm, so exposure is controlled entirely through shutter speed and ISO. This design also produces a distinctive ring-shaped or "donut" bokeh in out-of-focus highlights, a signature look unique to mirror lenses. Filters attach via a rear drop-in slot rather than the front of the lens, allowing quick changes without needing oversized front filters for such a long focal length. The lens uses 6 elements with a silver-coated mirror system for efficient light reflectivity, and its rugged, textured barrel is built to hold up to regular outdoor use.
