Sony A 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 Lens
The Sony SAL75300 75-300mm f/4.5-5.6 is a compact telephoto zoom designed for Sony A-mount DSLRs, covering a versatile range that's well-suited to portraits, wildlife, outdoor sports, and general telephoto work. On an APS-C body it reaches the equivalent of 112.5–450mm, giving shooters a lot of reach in a lightweight, easy-to-handle package. It's compatible with the full Sony Alpha and Minolta Maxxum DSLR lineup, and since A-mount bodies handle image stabilization in-body, the lens benefits from anti-shake performance without any added bulk or cost.
The optical construction consists of 13 elements in 10 groups, with a 7-bladed circular aperture that produces smooth, rounded bokeh from background light sources. Autofocus is driven by a standard micro-motor, and while it isn't the quietest or fastest system in the lineup, it performs reliably under good lighting conditions. The lens focuses down to approximately 4.9 ft (1.5 m) at 300mm, delivering up to 0.25x magnification for frame-filling close-up shots of flowers, insects, and small subjects. A 55mm front filter thread and a bayonet-mount cylindrical lens hood are included. Build quality is solid for the category, with a metal mount and a comfortable, well-balanced form factor that pairs naturally with mid-range Alpha bodies.
