Used Sony FE 16mm f/1.8 G Lens
The Sony FE 16mm f/1.8 G is Sony's widest prime in the G lens lineup, designed for full-frame E-mount shooters who need an ultra-wide perspective without sacrificing portability. At just 304g and fitting neatly in the palm of your hand, it's an ideal companion for landscape, architecture, astrophotography, and travel work where a fast, compact wide-angle lens earns its place in the bag. Its 107° angle of view gives you an expansive frame that pairs naturally with Sony's mirrorless Alpha bodies and even Sony's FX3 and FX30 cinema cameras.
The optical construction comprises 15 elements in 12 groups, anchored by two AA (Advanced Aspherical) elements that keep field curvature and astigmatism in check across the entire frame. One Super ED element and three standard ED elements work together to suppress chromatic aberration out to the corners, while Sony's optimized coating controls flare and ghosting. Autofocus is handled by dual XD (Extreme Dynamic) linear motors, which deliver fast, quiet AF with support up to 120 fps — a clear nod to video users. Focus breathing is well-controlled, and the lens accepts standard 67mm front filters thanks to a flat (non-bulging) front element design that sets it apart from most fast ultra-wides. Physical controls include a physical aperture ring with a click ON/OFF switch, an iris lock switch, an AF/MF switch, and a customizable focus hold button. Dust and moisture resistance and a fluorine-coated front element round out the feature set.
