White Sands National Park Photography Workshop

 with Alyce Bender

Covering over 275 square miles of desert, the gypsum dunes of White Sands National Park are the world’s largest gypsum dunefield. The vast, dazzling white sands reflect the colors of the sky, changing with the light and providing scenes that are never the same twice. This location will overwhelm the senses and provide incredible photographic opportunities of all types. Starting our mornings pre-dawn, we hike into the dunefield to witness the pale light find its way across the sand. As the sun rises, we look for the more subliminal scenes working our way towards abstracts of light and shadow. Late afternoon we look for abstracts or black and white compositions before setting up to watch as the sun sets over the dunes, casting warm pastel colors into the sky and across the sand. Each day will be a different adventure as the park allows us to wander freely throughout the dunes. Be prepared to walk through soft sand and up and down elevations as we explore this incredible place!

This workshop is limited to four (4) participants.

Physical rating for this workshop is medium to strenuous depending on participant's physical health.
