We're Doing A Solo
Posted by Chris Dolajak on 27th Mar 2014

We're lucky enough to be located in the same neighborhood as Varizoom headquarters here in Austin which has presented some unique opportunities for us lately. Most recently, we got our hands on the first six production units of the brand spankin' new SoloJib and SoloSlider.

These aren't just new versions or iterations of similar products under Varizoom or anyone else's flag, these are new tools that previously didn't exist in this realm - the realm of sub $500 pro-video motion rigs, that is. And Varizoom pulled it off. Here's the nitty gritty straight from Precision's Man of Motion, Craig Chartier...
"The jib comes in two versions, carbon fiber and aluminum. The jib will support camera capacities up to 7 pounds and has a working range of around 9 feet depending on the tripod it is supported by. The jib collapses into a travel bag that is less than 40 inches long.
The SOLO Slider Dolly, a portable folding track system, accommodates a wide array of tripods from 100mm to 75mm. The Slider Dolly comes with enough track for a maximum 16 feet of travel. Included within the kit are dense foam interlocking under padding sections which allow for smooth travel on a wide variety of surfaces. The Slider Dolly also comes with an easy to transport soft sided case.
When the two products are combined with either the VariZoom VZTK75A 75mm tripod, or any other similar tripod, the operator now has a really dynamic acquisition tool for beautiful, kinetic imagery."
