Step into the world of high-end wedding, portrait, and fashion photography with Sony Artisans of Imagery Scott Robert Lim and Zabrina Deng for an immersive day of inspiration, education, and hands-on shooting.  The day includes two three-hour workshops, one with each instructor, with participants split into two groups that rotate between sessions.  SONY WILL ALSO HAVE LOANER GEAR FOR EVERYONE TO TRY OUT!

Designed for photographers who want to elevate both their technical skills and creative vision, this experience combines expert instruction with real-world shooting opportunities. Learn how to create sophisticated, editorial-style imagery through intentional composition, confident posing, and creative lighting techniques you can put to work immediately.

Presentation & Instruction

Scott and Zabrina will share their approach to creating compelling portraits and editorial imagery, drawing from their experience photographing weddings, portraits, and destination assignments around the world.

Topics include:

• Posing individuals and couples to create natural, authentic, and sophisticated images
• Finding and using beautiful natural light in a variety of environments
• Seeing with intention and creating stronger, more deliberate compositions
• Choosing the right lens to enhance perspective, emotion, and visual storytelling
• Knowing when to use natural light, continuous LED lighting, on-camera flash, and off-camera flash
• Practical lighting techniques for weddings, portraits, and editorial photography
• Creative approaches to combining ambient light and artificial light
• Behind-the-scenes insights and real-world lessons from destination weddings and portrait sessions around the world

Hands-On Editorial Shooting Experience

Then take what you've learned and put it into practice.

Throughout the day, you'll rotate through immersive editorial shooting stations featuring professional fashion models, wedding couples, and fashion-forward wardrobe and styling. Each station is designed to give you the opportunity to experiment, create, and build images that feel polished and portfolio-ready.

You'll explore:

• Creative composition and visual storytelling
• Selecting lenses for different portrait, wedding, and fashion scenarios
• Directing and posing couples and professional models
• Working with continuous LED lighting
• Incorporating off-camera flash into creative lighting setups
• Creating dramatic, polished editorial-style wedding portraits
• Building sophisticated images with lighting, wardrobe, location, and composition
• Creating dynamic portfolio-quality images in professionally designed sets

Location

Hidden in the rolling countryside just outside Bellville, Newman’s Castle is a one-of-a kind medieval-style fortress that brings old-world charm to life. Complete with a working drawbridge weighing 3,000 pounds, a protective moat, towering turrets, a chapel, and a central keep overlooking the land, the castle offers guests an immersive experience that feels straight out of history.

Scott Robert Lim

Scott Robert Lim is a Sony Artisan of Imagery, international award-winning photographer, and one of the photography industry's leading educators. For over two decades, he has traveled the globe leading immersive photography workshops and speaking at major conferences, inspiring photographers to create compelling portraits in any location.  Renowned for his expertise in off-camera flash, environmental portraiture, and creative lighting, Scott has developed a teaching style that simplifies complex techniques into practical methods anyone can apply. His work and educational programs have been featured worldwide, and he has been invited by industry leaders—including Adobe and Sony—to present on creativity, photography, and digital imaging.  Whether photographing on the streets of Tokyo, the canals of Venice, or the beaches of Hawaii, Scott demonstrates how to find—or create—beautiful light anywhere, empowering photographers to elevate both their technical skills and artistic vision.

Zabrina Deng 

From Paris to Shanghai, Zabrina has travelled the world as a wedding and engagement photographer. As a WPPI Master Photographer and processor for over 60 international award-winning photos, she has accumulated six first place winner and two International Image of the Year awards from WPPI since 2011. Zabrina was named one of the Top 50 World's Best Destination Wedding photographers from Junebug Weddings and one of the 30 Rising Stars by Rangefinder Magazine. Her work has also been published in International Master Photographer, Vanity Fair (USA), Grace Ormonde Wedding Style, Town & Country (Thailand), Cosmopolitan Bride (China), ELLE (Hong Kong), Stuff Magazine (UK) and Vogue Italia's PhotoVogue. Zabrina also photographed the Grammy Award winning R&B band All-4-One for their 20th anniversary album cover using a Sony mirrorless camera. Besides her shooting assignments, Zabrina is also a popular speaker for major photographic conferences across America & Asia, training professional photographers on how to take their craft to the next level.
