Used Laowa 90mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO Lens for Canon RF
The Laowa 90mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO, printed on the barrel as "CA-Dreamer Macro 2X," is a manual focus macro prime built for full-frame Canon RF-mount cameras, also usable on APS-C bodies at a 144mm equivalent focal length. It offers 2:1 maximum magnification, twice life-size reproduction, while still focusing all the way out to infinity, making it a versatile option for macro subjects as well as portraits and general telephoto work.
The optical design uses 13 elements in 10 groups, including three extra-low dispersion elements, with an apochromatic (APO) correction to help control chromatic aberration at both in-focus and out-of-focus areas. A 13-blade diaphragm contributes to smooth, rounded bokeh, and an internal focusing design keeps the front of the lens from extending toward the subject, useful for avoiding collisions when working at close range. The all-metal construction is notably compact and lightweight for a 2x macro lens on the RF platform.
