Used Nikkor-N.C Auto 24mm f/2.8 Lens
The Nikkor-N.C Auto 24mm f/2.8 is a manual focus wide-angle prime lens built for the non-AI Nikon F mount, first introduced in 1967 and later given multi-coating (the "C" designation) in 1972. The "N" in its name is a holdover from Nikon's older naming convention, where letters stood for element counts, in this case nine, a genuinely complex design for a wide-angle lens at the time.
The lens was notable as the first to use Nikon's Close-Range Correction (CRC) system, which shifts internal lens groups independently during focusing to maintain image quality at close distances, a feature more commonly found on macro lenses. Optically, it's built from 9 elements in 7 groups, and its 84° angle of view makes it well suited to landscapes, architecture, and street photography. As a non-AI lens, it's compatible with older Nikon F-mount film bodies like the F, F2, and Nikkormat series, and can be paired with modern Nikon DSLRs that support non-AI lenses (such as the Df) or converted to AI for broader compatibility.
