Used Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Lens for Sony E
The Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN Art is a portrait-length prime lens built for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, also usable on APS-C bodies at a 127.5mm equivalent focal length. Its f/1.4 maximum aperture is well suited to portrait work, giving strong subject separation and reliable low-light performance in a body that's noticeably more compact than comparable DSLR-era 85mm lenses.
The optical design uses five SLD elements, one aspherical element, and four high refractive index elements to control aberrations across the frame, paired with Super Multi-Layer Coating to suppress flare and ghosting in strong backlight. A stepping motor drives autofocus, optimized for both phase detection and contrast detection systems on compatible bodies, and the exterior includes a physical aperture ring that can be de-clicked or locked, along with a dedicated focus mode switch and an AFL button for quick, tactile control.
