Giving Back to Austin Area Familes

Good morning my fellow ATX photographers! What a gorgeous day it is in Austin today. I hope everyone is taking advantage of this amazing weather and getting some great on location portraiture and landscapes! Send them to me so we can share your work! I wanted to take a moment, and tell you all the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep non-profit organization and local area Professional Photographer, Sandy Allen, who is the NILMDTS Austin Area Coordinator and a very dear friend of mine. 

NILMDTS's mission is to introduce remembrance photography to parents suffering the loss of a baby with a free gift of professional portraiture. Precision Camera University is hosting two informational meetings with Sandy. The ATX NILMDTS chapter needs more volunteers to sufficiently serve the Austin community. Currently, Sandy has 6 active volunteers, and to really serve the need in our community she really needs 40 active volunteers.

In the past I have worked with Sandy as her lighting assistant for her NILMDTS sessions, and I can tell you from personal experience that volunteering with this amazing organization has been one of the most rewarding volunteer experience I've every had. I don't want to mislead you, it was very heart breaking every time I've been with Sandy helping her light a family in need. However, the joy you feel knowing that you've helped create a portrait that will be cherished for a lifetime is absolutely worth volunteering.

Please join me and Sandy on Wednesday, May 18th in the PCU classroom from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday, June 18th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to learn how you can become part of one of the most amazing non-profit organizations in the world.
