Used Nikkor-N Auto 24mm f/2.8 Lens for Nikon F
The Nikkor-N Auto 24mm f/2.8 is a manual focus wide-angle prime for the early Nikon F mount, introduced in June 1967 with an 84° angle of view on full-frame. It’s compact and light for a 24mm, which makes it a handy lens for landscapes, street photography, and interiors.
The “N” in the name stands for its nine optical elements, arranged in 7 groups. It uses Nikon’s Close-Range Correction system, where floating elements move independently as you focus to keep image quality consistent at close distances. A 6-blade diaphragm controls exposure, the focus ring turns about 160°, and the 52mm filter thread keeps accessories small. This is a non-AI lens with meter prongs, made for the Nikon F, F2, and Nikkormat cameras, so it can’t be mounted on later AI-coupled bodies or most Nikon DSLRs, with the Df as the exception. It adapts easily to mirrorless cameras for manual focus wide-angle shooting.
- 24mm wide-angle focal length with an f/2.8 maximum aperture
- 9 elements in 7 groups with Close-Range Correction
- 6-blade diaphragm
- Non-AI Nikon F mount with meter prongs
- Minimum focusing distance of 1.0' (0.3m)
