Used Nikon AI Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 Lens
The AI Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 is a compact manual focus normal prime for the Nikon F mount, made from 1977 to about 1981. The f/1.4 aperture helps in low light and gives a shallow depth of field, which suits portraits, street photography, and available-light shooting on film bodies or, with an adapter, on mirrorless cameras.
The optical design uses 7 elements in 6 groups, with Nikon’s Super Integrated Coating on the glass surfaces to reduce flare and ghosting. A 7-blade diaphragm stops down to f/16, and the front element doesn’t rotate when focusing, which makes filters easier to use. The AI indexing works with AI-compatible Nikon bodies, and the lens focuses as close as 1.5 feet. At about 255g with a 52mm filter thread, it’s small and light enough to carry anywhere.
