Saturday, January 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Q2 Stadium

This is your opportunity to bring your own gear and light it the way you want. This is not an instructional seminar, instead, you'll get the entire time to shoot and add great images to your portfolio. We will however, have PCV salesman Robert Backman and Sony Reps Josh Needham and Chris Margaitis available to help you with your camera and settings. Models will be on-hand and students will take the lead to direct their own mini-sessions. You are free to roam the stadium and get creative!

In this class we will learn how to take modern day beauty portraits. By using standard studio equipment, we will walk through how to photograph glamorous editorial style portraits. Perfect for high end senior portrait sessions, beauty editorials, and makeup and jewelry clients. Learn some go-to lighting recipes. We will be working in the high key register of our exposure.

Many times, we photograph people indoors but the light isn’t quite right. On-camera flash may help but the best results are achieved by using off-camera flash. This may seem simple, but we can quickly be challenged but a multitude of photographic challenges.

In this class, we will delve deep into color theory, strobes with color gels and mixing with ambient light. All students will take photos of a professional model in the class and do live post-production work on them with the help of instructor Josh Baker. This course explores mixing contrasting colors to create dynamic portraits. Take your off camera lighting to the artistic side of mixed light with this workshop.

Nikon Speedlight Workshop at Mayfield Park

Saturday, January 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Mayfield Park

Come learn Nikon Speedlight techniques on how to incorporate speedlight into natural light. You will learn how to take a speedlight from TTL through manual to achieve the desired exposure. This is a hands-on shooting experience with sales rep, Robert Backman, Terrence Campbell from Nikon, and a professional model at Mayfield Park. The first hour will be instructional and the remaining time will consist of shooting a professional model with Nikon speedlights and your camera.

Sunday, January 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Anderson store

Join us for a look at how stop motion animation is created. Using the latest technology, this class with show you the tricks to make smooth picture by picture animations. We will go over the brief history of stop motion animation, how story board are written, and creating a set. Then we will make a short stop animation with a pre-made set. You can later edit the photos you took and show to all your friends and family. This is an immersive fun class designed to show you how to utilize your camera and a small space to make a short story.
