If you want to adjust and process your images, Adobe Photoshop is great software, but it is a big program that can be overwhelming. This class will cover the basics to get you started and give you a foundation to grow from. Your camera settings are only the first half of exposure. How you develop an image is the rest. Learn how to get the most out of your digital images using Photoshop, a digital darkroom.
Home Studio Photography Setup Class
Thursday, Oct. 7 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Anderson
Do you want to set up a home studio and want to know where to start? Or maybe you've picked up a few odds and ends and want to better understand how to use it. This workshop will cover gear selection and basic lighting and posing skills to help you get started with your home portrait studio.
Portraits In Depth - 6 Week Series
Ongoing Classes starting Friday, Oct. 8 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
In this six-week course you’ll get all of the information you need to make beautiful portraits indoors. We’ll start at the beginning covering fundamental concepts then build to cover more advanced and creative concepts. You’ll work with professional models each week as well as a variety of lighting types- including continuous lights, speedlights and studio lights. You’ll learn about posing and post-production using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. You’ll have homework assignments and access to a secret Facebook group for off-line discussion. When you complete this course, you will have a clearer understanding of a systematic approach to creating beautiful portraits every time you shoot.
Street Photography, Documentary Portraiture Workshop and Exhibition
Saturday, Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting at Anderson
This all-day course will cover the history of street photography by reviewing the work of prominent street photographers who have come before us and who currently work the medium this way, as well as techniques. The group will go out to photograph the streets of Austin the second session. The session will involve analysis of student images and selection for exhibition.
The workshop will culminate in a printed body of work that will be shown at Artworks Gallery in downtown Austin.
Monday, Oct. 11,from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This workshop will be a full one-day workshop at the beautiful and historic Neill-Cochran House. Using stunning professional models as our bride and groom, acclaimed wedding photographer and instructor Dustin Meyer will teach the class how to shoot everything from getting ready to wedding details, wedding day portraits, posing, lighting, as well as setting up for stunning reception photos.

Workshop: Explore Lighting in the West: Saturday, Oct. 16 from 3 to 6 p.m.
Grab your spurs, camera and lighting gear, we're going to the barn to have fun with light! We'll look at the western landscape in color and B&W. We'll work with western models making them part of the landscape and then western stars. Working with natural light, small and big flash, we'll tell a tale or two that will go down in the journals of the west. Come on partner, let's get shootin!
Fashion and Portrait Lighting Workshop with Rob Oades
Saturday, Oct. 23 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Mastering light, moving with your subject, fashion and portrait lighting. These are all concepts you will be learning from Rob Oades in this exclusive workshop. Rob has learned directly from greats such as Rankin, David Sims, Mario Testino and Annie Leibovitz. Now he's ready to turn around and pass that knowledge onto you in this workshop! He will also be diving into his unique lighting setups, light shaping tools, and lighting your backdrop.
Tuesday, Oct. 26 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Join us for a look at how stop motion animation is created. Using the latest technology this class with show you the tricks to make smooth picture by picture animations. We will go over the brief history of stop motion animation, how story board are written, and creating a set. Then we will make a short stop animation with a pre-made set. You can later edit the photos you took and show to all your friends and family.
