Used Takumar 200mm f/3.5 Lens for M42
The Takumar 200mm f/3.5 is a manual focus telephoto prime for M42 screw-mount cameras, made by Asahi Optical in the late 1950s and early 1960s. It’s a large, solidly built lens with an f/3.5 maximum aperture and an 18-blade diaphragm that keeps out-of-focus highlights nearly circular at any aperture setting.
This is a preset design, so the aperture ring sits at the front of the lens and you set the aperture by hand and stop down manually rather than relying on an automatic diaphragm. The optics are 4 elements in 4 groups, the focus ring has a long throw of close to a full turn, and a built-in tripod mount helps balance the lens on a tripod. It takes 67mm filters and, with an M42 adapter, works well for manual focus telephoto shooting on many mirrorless cameras.
