Used Zoom-Nikkor 100-300mm f/5.6 AI-S Lens
The Zoom-Nikkor 100-300mm f/5.6 AI-S is a manual focus telephoto zoom for the Nikon F mount, built from 1984 to 1998. It covers a 3x range from a short telephoto to a long reach with a constant f/5.6 aperture, which suits sports, wildlife, and photojournalism.
A single push/pull ring handles both zoom and focus, so it’s quick to operate on the move. The optical design uses 14 elements in 10 groups with a 9-blade diaphragm, and a macro mode at 100mm focuses as close as 2.3 feet, while normal focusing goes down to 6.5 feet. The AI-S indexing works with AI-S-compatible Nikon bodies, the 62mm filter thread takes standard filters, and at about 2 pounds it’s a substantial all-metal lens. It also adapts easily to mirrorless cameras for manual focus telephoto work.
