Used Nikkor-Q.C Auto 200mm f/4 Non-AI Lens
The Nikkor-Q.C Auto 200mm f/4 is a manual focus telephoto prime for the early Nikon F mount, the multi-coated update of a lens first introduced in 1961. The 200mm focal length reaches well for sports, stage, wildlife, and portraits, and the all-metal body has a built-in retractable lens hood.
The “Q” in the name stands for its four optical elements, arranged in 4 groups, and the “C” means Nikon’s multi-coating, which helps reduce flare and ghosting. A 6-blade diaphragm stops down to f/32, and the lens focuses as close as about 6.6 feet and takes 52mm filters. This is a non-AI lens with meter prongs, made for the Nikon F, F2, and Nikkormat cameras, so it can’t be mounted on later AI-coupled bodies or most Nikon DSLRs, with the Df as the exception. With an adapter it works well for manual focus telephoto shooting on mirrorless cameras, where focus peaking helps.
