Check out some incredible classes coming up in April! Many classes, you'll get to venture out of the PCV classroom and venture out to enjoy the great Texas spring weather while taking some great shots!
Bluebonnet Photography at the Wildflower Center
Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center | $99
Watch your images blossom in this special outdoor floral photography workshop at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center. You’ll learn how to photograph bluebonnets and other wildflowers utilizing lighting, lens choice and composition while enjoying the natural beauty of the Wildflower Center.
Wednesdays, April April 6, 13, 20, 27, May 4, 11 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. | Anderson classroom | $649
In this six-week course you’ll get all of the information you need to make beautiful portraits indoors. We’ll start at the beginning covering fundamental concepts then build to cover more advanced and creative concepts. You’ll work with professional models each week as well as a variety of lighting types- including continuous lights, speedlights and studio lights. You’ll learn about posing and post-production using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. You’ll have homework assignments and access to a secret Facebook group for further discussion. When you complete this course, you will have a clearer understanding of a systematic approach to creating beautiful portraits every time you shoot.
Model Access at Jester King Brewery with Fujifilm

During this exclusive model access event, you'll have three hours of non-stop shooting time with our models at this scenic event space, plus each class member gets a $20 food and beverage voucher! Jester King serves as a brewery, kitchen, farm & event hall on a beautiful 165 acre ranch in the Texas Hill Country. Jester King is a welcoming place for people of all ages to enjoy community, fun & hospitality in a very special setting.
6th Street Neon Portrait Workshop
Tuesday, April 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. | Downtown Austin | $109
6th Street is best known for its live music and neon lights, making it a great place to shoot interesting photos. Learn to use the night time ambient light to your advantage in your photography. Balance the bright pinks and blues of Austin’s downtown with flash and ambient techniques to make amazing portraits. We will be a roving band of Austin weirdness, so come out and join us!
Sunday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. | Southpark Meadows classroom | $99
Are you feeling nervous about your first flight with your new DJI drone? Or simply want to know more about the features of the latest aerial technology before investing in a drone? This class is geared towards learning just the very basics and the usage of DJI Smart Fly modes so you understand how to successfully make aerial content the easiest way possible. If you have no background in drone flight or are just trying to grasp DJIs controls, this class will help you feel comfortable in just two and a half hours.
Friday, April 22 from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. | Reveille Peak Ranch | $229
Man has gazed in wonder at the milky way throughout recorded history. Venturing into the dark with a modern camera allows that wonder to be captured in image form. Learn how, when and where to photograph the milky way during this hands on workshop. Please be aware that this is a LATE workshop and you will have to drive to a private ranch. We will be walking off road/sidewalk after dark. Everyone should wear sturdy shoes such as hiking boots. Long pants are also advisable.
